A Fun and Playful Housewarming Party

This should really be called the Target clearance party, because that is where our savvy host aquired most of the items for her housewarming party.  When coming up with the theme the host and I were actually inspired by the lovely diving ladies featured in the Retro Inspired post.  Well after many months of waiting planning and gathering items for this shindig, and even rescheduling thanks to Hurricane Irene, the big day had finally come and this is how it turned out.

Mason Jars with colorful straws were set out for drinking.  They were also used to hold utensils.

Stripes and Polka dots in Retro Colors (Teals, Yellows, Blues, Red) add to the look and feel of the party.  Italian Ice is a fun treat for both the kids and the adults and a must have at a coastal celebration!

Add in some Sangria and Tropical Champagne Punch in some fun pitchers to really get the party started.

And finally set up a cookie station in these fun apothocary jars.

In order to keep things simple for the day of the party the dinner menu consisted of many make ahead items, such as baked ziti, pulled pork sandwhiches and finally sausage and peppers.
